Story
Double Blessings is a heartfelt tribute to our twin sons, Michael and Peter—two remarkable individuals, each with a unique spirit. To honor them, our winemaker, Maayan Koschitzky, created two distinct wines, each crafted as a single varietal expression: one predominantly from Cabernet Franc and the other from Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are sourced from Napa Valley and produced with the same precision and care, yet they reveal strikingly different personalities, one structured and contemplative, the other vibrant and expressive. More than just a pair of wines, Double Blessings reflect our family’s determination to grow, and the extraordinary gift of being blessed with twins.
Tasting Notes
The 2022 Double Blessings Peter is sourced from the Tench Vineyard in the Oakville AVA, just north of Screaming Eagle. The vineyard’s soils are varied, including iron-rich, rocky, golden-red soils on its eastern side, which encourages ideal vine stress that contributes to the growing of high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon.
Centered around Cabernet Franc, this wine is perfumed with exotic spice, black currant, blueberry compote, graphite, and freshly tilled earth. The palate displays impressive structure, framed with fine-grained tannins, and the dense core of ripe fruit is balanced with freshness, finishing with tobacco leaf and red currant emerging in layers.

“It’s balanced, has ultra-fine tannins, incredible overall balance, and a great finish. It’s a sensational wine.”
Based on 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, all from the Tench Vineyard in Oakville, the 2023 Double Blessings Peter Proprietary Red Wine is another inky-hued beauty that offers cassis, liquid blackberries, roasted herbs, espresso, and meaty, beefy nuances. It’s ripe and full-bodied, with a round, opulent profile, velvety tannins, plenty of chocolaty oak, and a great, expansive finish. Aged 22 months in barrels, this opulent, powerful, dense effort has tons of length and character and will reward short-term cellaring. Drink 2030-2055.
“The 2022 Double Blessings Peter is named after one of the owner’s twins and is based on 60% Cabernet Franc and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, largely from Beckstoffer’s George III Vineyard, yet wi…th a splash from Tench. Red and black fruits, iron, violets, and candied orange are just some of its nuances, and this beauty is full-bodied, has a ripe, broad, sexy mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a blockbuster finish. This ripe, upfront, fruit-loaded 2022 will drink well for 10-15 years.”

“The 2019 Double Blessings Cabernet Sauvignon Peter is named for one of the Simons’ twin sons. A 137-case blend that leans toward Coombsville in terms of sourcing, it’s 100% Cabernet Sauvignon th… spent 18 months in 80% new French oak. Scents of charcoal or graphite appear on the nose, adding a subtle complexity to the dark, savory notes of cassis, earth and black olives. It’s full-bodied, concentrated and supple, with exciting layers of savory complexity built into the long, softly dusty finish.”
